Klosterman's second 800 set comes on his 78th birthday

Jack Klosterman bowled a near perfect 299 game and an 801 set in the Friday Night Gems League at The Bowler. It also happened to be his 78th birthday present. The 801 was the area's top score for the week and was Klosterman's second 800 in his career.
Darren Durbin's 730/275 was second at The Bowler.
At Wilson Lanes, Joe Buff rolled a perfect game in his 736 set, and Bill Kyle bowled a 299 game in his 705 set. Bob Greene's 761/288 was the high at Wilson Lanes and he also scored a 759/258 during the week. Clay Corbin also bowled a 759 set with a high game of 266.
Bobby Lannon was highest at Rainbow Lanes, scoring a 289 game and 744 set. Bo Grogan followed rolling 687/247.
Chad Gable's 727/247 was the high at White Oak Lanes and Bucky Hall's 699/269 was next high.
Quintin Guthrie bowled 707/267 for the high at Par-Matt Lanes. Mel Humberson followed rolling 702/246.
Jeremiah Howsare's 668/252 was the Sherwood high, followed by a 645/246 rolled by Mark Metts.
Missy Yates took the area's top lady bowler honors for the week, bowling a big 256 game and 639 set. Stephanie Sevy was next with 624/222.
Nancy Glotfelty and Sharon Collins were the highest ladies at Par-Matt Lanes, bowling 585/228 and 559/201 respectively.
Dee Self's 574/233 was the ladies high at Rainbow Lanes. Sandy Hott rolled 569/191 for second place.
Pattie McKenney bowled 566/211 for the White Oak's top ladies score. Beth Rhodes was next with 546/191.
At Wilson Lanes, Jessica Judy was the top lady bowling a big 267 game and 565 set. Janine Buff was next scoring 552/223.
Alice Monahan rolled 563/215 at Sherwood, followed by Pam Brasky with 553/204.
Don Peck was the area's top senior for the week, bowling 661/256 at The Bowler. Pat Filsinger rolled 580/235 at apar-Matt Lanes. Senior, Charlie Riden scored578/216 at Rainbow Lanes and Brad Deter rolled 576/219 at White Oak Lanes.
In youth bowling, Andy Howard scored 653/257 at Wilson Lanes also Amanda Greene had 598/258 at Wilson Lanes. At Par-Matt, Shawn Bennett rolled 624/248. Sean Fitzgerald bowled 620/234 at The Bowler. Scottie Brown rolled 566 at White Oaks, and Charles Abernathy scored 565/203 at Rainbow Lanes.
In the local Scotch doubles handicap tournament held at White Oak Lanes, the final results of those that cashed were First place - Beth and Lee Rhodes (694); second - Shirley and Ricky Kahl (685); third - Betty Gable and Tom Fairgrieve (676); fourth - B.J. Riggleman and Larry Wilt (669) fifth - Joan Smith and Bob Helsley (663); sixth - Autumn Gable and Jimmy Barrett (660), seventh - Rhonda Kroll and Bob Helsley (652), eighth - Betty Smith and Dana Smith (646), ninth -Anne Shahan and Tracy Shahan (643); 10th - Dawn House and Howard Peterson (642).
On the PBA tour, Pete Weber won the 64th U.S. Open and his 34th career title at North Brunswick, N.J. on Sunday, March 4. Weber defeated Wes Malott in the final 210-204. In the first match Jeff Carter defeated Dave D'Entremont 185-183, but then lost to Weber 192-267. In that match, Weber started with eight straight strikes.
The PBA takes a week off then returns to Indianapolis for the 2007 Pepsi Championship at Woodland Bowl.
