Yates’ 788/272 week’s highest

— Derek Yates bowled 788/272 at Rainbow Lanes and was last week’s top scorer in the local area. Yates bowls in several different bowling centers and that experience obviously shows. C.P. Sines was next high at Rainbow, rolling 724/255.

At White Oaks several big scores were posted. Mike Sipple scored 779/279 for the lead, followed by Bobby Benton’s 770/279 and Chad Gable’s 725/279.

Dave Yates led the men at The Bowler, rolling 759/269. Alex Shirey was next, scoring 691/257.

Bob Greene’s 732/248 was Wilson Lanes top score for the week. Justin Boyer was second, rolling 728/264. Fred Fields bowled a 278 game in his 637 set.

Mel Humberson scored 670/247 for the Par-Matt high. Tracy Shahan was next, rolling 637/224.

Jeff Bell was Sherwood’s top bowler, rolling 624/224. Robbie Knieriem followed, scoring 617/257.

In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, Mike Brobst was highest, scoring 659/246. Doug Otto and Bobby Lannon were next, rolling 639/237 and 630/248, respectively.

Vivian Helsley was the area’s top lady bowler for the week, scoring 626/235. Autumn Gable followed, rolling 591/243.

Becky Torrington was The Bowler’s top lady, scoring a 526 set. Stephanie Miller was next, bowling 549/214.

At Rainbow, Lou Dille was high, bowling 560/203. Pam Brinkman followed, rolling 552/203.

At Par-Matt Lanes, Janet Tichnell also rolled a 560 set with a high game of 199. Shirley Glotfelty was next, rolling 540/194.

Pat Gwizdale bowled 534/203 at Wilson Lanes and Ali Eller rolled 527/212 at Sherwood Lanes.

Senior Jim Edmands was the top senior for the week, bowling 627/220 at White Oaks. John Corbin was the top senior at The Bowler, scoring 593/210. Jerry House rolled 578/215 at Par-Matt Lanes.

Kasey Sullivan was the area’s top youth bowler, bowling 637/229. Dylan Lewis rolled 608/233 at Rainbow and Frank Llewellyn bowled 533/186 at Wilson Lanes.

The Men’s All-Star Tournament was held Sunday, Oct. 7, at Par-Matt Lanes. Sherwood Lanes finished first with a 3,177 total pinfall, followed by Rainbow Lanes (3,131), The Bowler (3,093), White Oaks (3,045), Par-Matt (2,986) and Wilson Lanes (2,838). Berkeley Springs did not participate.
