FROSTBURG — Mr. and Mrs. Paul Knieriem recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Paul and Janet were married on Sept. 7, 1957, at the Eckhart Baptist Church parsonage, with the Rev. Brooks Henry officiating. Close friends Bill and Darlene Frye stood as witnesses, along with immediate family members in attendance for the ceremony.
The Knieriems were faithful members of Eckhart Baptist Church for the past 60 years and still attend as health permits.
Paul and Janet spent all but four years of their married life together in Frostburg, working and raising seven children, who in turn blessed them with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
To celebrate their special day, the couple were guests of honor at a family dinner hosted by their children and spouses, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attendance. After-dinner activities included storytelling, games and words of thankfulness and appreciation for the special couple.
Prior to the “oldyweds” cutting their anniversary cake, a special toast was given in the form of a poem, reflecting the past 60 years of marriage between Paul and Janet.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all you’ve done and all you continue to do for your family and for being a true example of lasting love!
