The celebration was great, but there was no need to take flags

I would like to personally thank everyone who came to help Frostburg celebrate its bicentennial birthday! It was so nice to see so many people in town enjoying all the festivities offered by the Bicentennial Committee and the town.

The block party was fun for all, the parade was magnificent, the fireworks were spectacular, the barbeque on Sunday was a pleasant end to the weekend and the weather cooperated too! What more could you ask!

The only disappointment was that someone felt the need to help themselves to eight of the street flags put out in honor of the celebration by Farrady Post 24 American Legion.

Our men faithfully display these flags for every holiday and it is disheartening to think that people have so little respect for what these flags represent.

I would ask that if by chance you should come across any of these flags, four U.S. flags and four Maryland state flags on poles, that you would please bring them to Post 24 at 27 W. Main St. in Frostburg.

It would be greatly appreciated and there will be no questions asked.

Happy Birthday, Frostburg
