Why are there no contrary opinions from conservatives?

To the Editor:
Cumberland Times-News

— Judith Weller is correct (“The money they already have isn’t being spent wisely,” June 3 Times-News)! So is Jane Howe (“He worries about one, but ignores what the others do,” May 31).

It has been quite a long time since I’ve seen a conservative readers commentary. I know through friends and relatives that have given up on the paper many have been submitted.

There is certainly an organized effort to discredit the Allegany County Commissioners with the same old arguments of division and hate.

Maybe the Board of Indoctrination should take a look at the product they’ve been turning for the past decade. They can’t complete a 1040EZ, a checkbook register, or check the fluid levels of their own car.

Anytime anyone stands up for fiscal responsibility or discusses the unintended consequences of sweeping cultural change, or has traditional values, they are countered as an enemies of children, women, education, gays, minorities. All dialog is supposed to cease at that time. All logic is supposed to stop.

With all the serious scandals, going on at this time, I find it hard to believe there are no contrary opinions!

This paper has had very good record of allowing divergent points of view. But certainly not recently. I hope I am wrong and mean no disrespect. I am tired of the same old liberal restatements!

What we do hear is the same old voices that ran this state for a half century. We should no problems left to solve! Why not let the commissioners and others have some time for their policies to work?
