To the Editor:
We were founded as “one nation, under God.
That used to say it all. We strove to be a Godly nation.
We relied on Almighty Gods’ protection; His armor to protect us. When we honored Him and trusted Him (to use today’s’ terminology) He had our back.
Now we rely on ourselves. We form groups such as Citizens groups for this or that, tea parties, coalitions, etc. These are all well and good, but where is God in all of this?
We seem to want to stay in our comfort zones. We go to churches that say what we want to hear. We preach what people will tolerate hearing and still attend.
Many are social clubs where we can hear “feel good” sermons that are not addressing God’s issues and how He views what is becoming of our standards.
Our focus should be on God’s Law. The writers of the Constitution were focused on Gods’ Law.
Maybe it is time to return to leaders in the church who are not catering to our whims and soft-peddling their messages.
Maybe we have reached a point where we need fire and brimstone for us to return to “one nation, under God.”
Maybe because we have avoided the issues; we are getting our fire and brimstone via governmental lawlessness and turmoil. What do you think? Let’s have this discussion!
One more thing: The IRS is not going after our churches; could it be that they pose no threat to governmental infringement on our civil liberties?
