Living center marks national nursing assistants week

Golden Living Center will join in the celebrations honoring the hundreds of thousands of nursing assistants across the country during National Nursing Assistants Week, June 13-20.

Eva Wilson is director of nursing at Golden Living Center, and we appreciate the dedication with which our nursing assistants approach each and every day.

They work hard to provide our patients with great healthcare and provide comfort to support improved quality of life. For our residents, our nursing assistants are not only excellent caregivers they also are reliable friends.

Golden Living Center invites the general public to join us on this special recognition for our certified nursing assistants during the weeklong holiday.

Golden Living Center provides quality healthcare for up to 134 patients and residents including those needing skilled nursing and rehabilitative care.

The facility has been part of the Cumberland community since 1968.

Time was that we looked for heroes. Heroes of the make-believe variety have sold a lot of comic books. We also had real-life heroes like Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, whose deaths the whole nation mourned.
These days, we seem to be more interested in looking for villains. “Vote for me because I’m the good guy” has taken a back seat to “Don’t vote for him, because he’s the bad guy.”
