Where to go?

College Night offers options for area students

Area high school students who are facing a decision about where to continue their education have an excellent opportunity for help when the Tri-State College Night is held Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Allegany College of Maryland.

More than 70 schools and military organizations will have representatives at the event, giving students and their parents a chance to learn more about what each institution has to offer.

Any student or parent who has gone through the process of researching post-secondary education options, applying for college admission and financial assistance and navigating through reams of paperwork knows the difficulties involved. Educators know about the challenges, and are eager to help.

For 46 years, Tri-State College Night has been assisting local students.

As a bonus, four high school students will be selected by random drawing for scholarships ranging from $200 to $500.

The event is sponsored by the Allegany County Guidance Counselors’ Association.
