In 1963, Jay and the Americans released a hit song, titled “Only in America.”

The lyrics: “Only in America can a guy from anywhere go to sleep a pauper and wake up a millionaire.” Only in America can a kid who’s washin’ cars take a giant step and reach right up and touch the stars”

It spoke to the American Dream ... that Americans had the freedom, through their own hard work and initiative, to accomplish great things. It’s Free Enterprise, or Capitalism.

The hallmarks of our economic system! Yet, thanks to the Democrat Party and the puppet media, their mere mention is omitted in 2013 America.

Later, Neil Diamond wrote: “Comin’ to America,” stating: ”Everywhere around the world..They’re coming to America. Ev’ry time that flag’s unfurled … They’re coming to America. On the boats and on the planes ... They’re coming to America. Never looking back again..They’re coming to America.”

Legal immigration is now a joke. Border control, a thing of the past. Democrats use immigration for one purpose: “Let ‘em walk in and, we’ll have their votes!” Sadly, it’s working!

In 1947, the U.S. Jaycees adopted the Jaycee Creed. In part, it states: “We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men.” These are the principles of our Founding Fathers!

America .... what it USED to be! What has changed?

Over the years, there has been a systematic, subtle dismantling of our values, our principles, our pride and our heritage by the Democrats and leftist media.

They have made patriotism, responsibility and morality “uncool.” Replaced by an “anything-goes” philosophy.

Well, look around you! Our freedoms are being attacked, or have already been snatched from us. Our healthcare, our privacy, what we can and cannot purchase, what we can and cannot say.

Truly, Big Brother has his ever-growing hands on our throats.

For decades, the Democrat party proposed to be on the side of the poor and those “discriminated against.” There was their “War on Poverty,” the “Great Society” and many other such programs.

The results: Government got bigger, taxpayer wallets got lighter, and the poor are still poor. They can’t fix our economy because they don’t believe in free enterprise. They prefer socialism. This is not my father’s Democratic Party!

Look at our cities. Those that are bankrupt and falling apart, have long been controlled by the Democratic Party! All they want to do is keep throwing money at problems.

If people continue to struggle..the thought is, “OK, at least they’ll vote for us!“ The party’s motivation, is not creating meaningful jobs for people … but getting votes!

The only thing the party does for job creation is: prevent it! They are anti-business and anti-private sector. They have smothered job creation through their beloved taxation, regulation, and especially their EPA.

Just imagine if we didn’t need to purchase foreign oil from those who hate us ... Arabs and Muslims. Well, it’s not necessary! We have plenty of it within our borders.

Regressive government regulations prevent getting it. If we produce our own, it would accomplish two goals, create an economic boon for us; and bankrupt those who are using our money to facilitate our destruction.

Also, if you’re a parent/grandparent, ask your children/grandchildren about America’s founding, our fight for freedom, the greatness of America and how our Constitution works.

Examine one of their textbooks. Read about Maryland’s new Core Curriculum. Note how little they contain about America…and how much about other “cultures,” including Muslims. You want to know how our slide began? Start there.
