Despite some changes, these things remain same in Midland

Many citizens of Midland are confused about what ambulance service covers our area, since Frostburg Ambulance Service has sent membership forms to all Midland residents. Georges Creek Ambulance is still the primary one to cover Midland. Anyone covered before by Georges Creek is still covered by them.

Also, since the closing of our post office, any person receiving mail in the cluster boxes downtown should have the name, house number and Midland, MD 21532, as the mailing address — not Frostburg.

The town officials obtained permission from the postal authorities so we could retain our identity. This also helps when we apply for federal funding.

When you fill out your income taxes, even if your mail is delivered to your home and you have to use Frostburg, Md., as your mailing address, but you live within the town limits, Midland should be put in the block for “town.”

This way, the town will receive its fair share of money from various government programs.
