Students from South Penn, Northeast, West Side and John Humbird Elementary schools participate in the 21st Century after-school program. Participants from the four schools planted flowers, spread mulch, planted trees and picked up trash for the activity at the entrance to the C. Eugene Mason Recreation and Sports Complex on Offutt Street. The activity was part of a service-learning project community day. The after-school program purchased the flowers for the kids to plant.
