Students receive scholarships from Frostburg State University

— FROSTBURG — Frostburg State University announces the following area students have received scholarships for study at the University.

  • Katelyn Alkire, of Cumberland received the Ida B. Wells Student and Education Scholarship from Frostburg State University. Alkire is the daughter of Bill and Suan Alkire and attended Allegany High School.

  • Kelly Bean, of Deer Park received the Dr. J. Hopwood and Karen Wooddell Scholarship and New Page Employee Upperclassman Scholarship from Frostburg State University. Bean is the daughter of Keith and Debbie Bean and attended Southern Garrett High School.

  • Gage Becker, of Cumberland received the Academic Honor Scholarship from Frostburg State University. Becker is the son of Stacy Becker and attended Allegany High School.

  • Jerica Bennett, of Oakland received the Robert and Johanna Weimer Scholarship from Frostburg State University. Bennett is the daughter of Steven and Tammie Bennett and attended Southern Garrett High School.

  • Justin Bittner, of Frostburg received the Elizabeth Hitchins Memorial Scholarship from Frostburg State University. Bittner attended Mountain Ridge High School.
