Shaffer, Preston engagement

MOUNT SAVAGE — Danny and Mary K. Shaffer are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Lynne Shaffer, to Michael Glenn Preston, son of Sgt. Maj. of the Army Ken and Karen Preston.

Melanie is a 2000 graduate of Mount Savage School and a student at Frostburg State University. She will graduate in May 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Melanie is also employed for the Allegany County Board of Education as a substitute teacher.

Michael is a 2000 graduate of Mount Savage School and a 2006 graduate of Allegany College of Maryland. He is currently attending Frostburg State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business. Michael is a military policeman in the Army Reserve as well as a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

A June 21, 2008 wedding is planned. Invitations will be sent.
