Logsdon, Heavener engagement

— CUMBERLAND — Mr. and Mrs. John and Carol Logsdon of Cumberland are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kirsten A. Logsdon, to Wayne C. Heavener, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey and Tonya Heavener, of LaVale.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of John and Jo Ann Logsdon and the late J. Ernest and Patricia Wilson. Kirsten is a 2006 graduate of Allegany High School and a 2010 graduate of Frostburg State University, with a bachelor’s degree in biological science. She is currently a student at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and will graduate with a doctor of dental surgery degree in May 2014.

Her fiancé is the grandson of Dorothy Hunter and the late Jack Hunter, as well as the late John and Dorothy Heavener. Wayne is a 2006 graduate of Allegany High School, a 2010 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in political science, and a 2013 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law. He is currently an attorney with the law firm of Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore.

Wayne and Kirsten were engaged on April 20, 2013, in the gardens at the Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg, Va.     A June 2014 wedding is planned.
