Ziler, Sloan engagement announced

— RAWLINGS — Amanda Ziler and Freddy Sloan, along with their families, are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

Amanda is the daughter of Wayne and Sherri Ziler of Rawlings.

 Freddy is the son of Katherine Sloan of Lonaconing and the late Rev. Dr. Charles “Fred” Sloan Jr.

Amanda is a graduate of Westmar High School and Allegany College of Maryland. She is currently employed as a respiratory therapist at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore.

Freddy is a graduate of Valley High School and is the owner and operator of Sloan’s Concrete and The Sloan Company Portable Toilets,  Lonaconing.

Both Freddy and Amanda enjoy time spent in the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. On a special hunting trip to Ohio in November 2011, Freddy asked Amanda to be his wife.

Surrounded by family and friends, the couple will exchange their vows on Oct. 13, 2012.
