BEDFORD, Pa. - Rhett Wolford, a 2006 graduate of Bedford High School, currently is perfoming in the Indiana University of Pennsylvania spring musical, "The 3 Penny Opera."
He is a sophomore majoring in musical theater. The dates for the show are today and Saturday at 8 p.m.
"The 3 Penny Opera" is about Mack the Knife, a dirty low down thief in 1928 Berlin, Germany. He is the leader of a gang that helps him steal.
Mack "marries" a young women named Polly, whose father is the ringleader of all the beggers in Berlin.
Mack has an old army friend named Tiger Brown, who is now a law enforcer. In the end Mack is saved by his friend Tiger, who acquired a pardon for him from the queen.
"The 3 Penny Opera" is a dark musical with interesting characters.
Wolford plays Crook-finger Jack, One of Mack's gang members.
Wolford has been in several shows in the Cumberland area and has been a vocal student of Chris McCabe.
He is the son of John and Dawn Wolford of Hyndman, Pa.
