BlueHighways TV arrives for Atlantic Broadband viewers in Cumberland area

For the Cumberland Times-News

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - BlueHighways TV has arrived for cable television viewers in the Cumberland area, and the network that explores the people, stories, traditions and music of America is joining with local cable provider Atlantic Broadband to celebrate as sponsors of the DelFest 2008 family-friendly roots music festival, May 23-25 at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland.

BlueHighways TV is now available on Atlantic Broadband's Digital Service tier, on Channel 220.

As Gold Sponsors of DelFest 2008, BlueHighways TV and Atlantic Broadband will contribute on-air festival commercials leading up to the event, have a booth and giveaways at the festival, and be featured in program ads and various event-related marketing materials. Atlantic Broadband will offer customers special discounted tickets for the festival, and will display its new mobile production truck at the event.

BlueHighways TV will also film part of the DelFest 2008 for an upcoming episode of American Journeys, which it plans to premiere in Cumberland at a VIP screening event.

DelFest 2008 is hosted by bluegrass greats The Del McCoury Band, and features an all-star roster of Bluegrass, Americana and Country artists, including BlueHighways TV's own Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition.

The three-day line up includes: Vince Gill, Dierks Bentley, Sam Bush, David Grisman, David Bromberg, Chris Thile, Abigail Washburn Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, and many more (www.delfest.com).

"We are pleased to be involved with this nationally recognized music festival," said Dave Dane, vice president and general manager of pperations for Atlantic Broadband. "Our campaign will help build excitement for BlueHighways TV's launch on our system with dedicated roots music fans, and we hope to continue this partnership with BlueHighways TV and DelFest for many years to come."

"BlueHighways TV is committed to reaching out directly to our roots music fan base at festivals and community events such as DelFest, and this is an excellent venue to help celebrate our recent launch in Cumberland, Md.," said Stan Hitchcock, chairman and CEO of BlueHighways TV. "These devoted fans often travel hundreds of miles to listen to their favorite musicians, and they help spread the word about where viewers can find BlueHighways TV's roots music programming - and in Cumberland, that is on Atlantic Broadband."

BHTV programming features roots music, including bluegrass, blues, folk western, gospel and traditional country, outdoor adventure and agriculture, lifestyle, cooking, equestrian and a variety of other subjects valued by a wide and growing audience.
