The Midland Grace United Methodist Church will sponsor a pancake and buckwheat breakfast Saturday, April 26, from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Midland Fire Hall. The menu will include pancakes, buckwheats, sausage, sausage gravy, home fries or beverage.

St. Paul's Lutheran's Rhoads to Recovery Relay for Life team will hold a plant sale Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church, Washington and Smallwood streets, Cumberland. The sale will feature annuals and vegetable plants from Daughton's Greenhouse, and decorative wrapping will be available for gifts.

The event is open to the public and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The Women's Ministry of Springfield Assembly of God Church, state Route 28, Springfield, W.Va., will hold a yard and bake sale Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hot dogs, chili dogs, beverages and a pork dinner will be available.

The Rev. Katrina Messenger will consider "Gods, Myths and Archetypes" Sunday, April 27, at 10:45 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Greater Cumberland, 211 S. Lee St., Cumberland. She will share selected readings from her upcoming book on psychology and the western magical traditions.

Messenger, a feminist of African, Cherokee and Irish descent, is a mystic and is an ordained minister and founder of both Connect DC and the Reflections Mystery School.

The event is open to the public and a "quiet room" with piped-in sound is available for parents with infants and toddlers.

The Ullery Family Singers will be at the Wiley Ford Church of the Brethern Sunday, April 27, at 11 a.m. A spaghetti dinner for the benefit of Tracy Glotfelty, who has brain Cancer, will follow the service.

The McKameys, a family singing group from Clinton, Tenn., will present a concert Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at the Message of Freedom Church, Grafton, W.Va.

The McKameys have had 16 number one singles and in 1999 were honored by their recording label, Horizon, for having the most number one hits in the history of southern gospel music.

The parish nurses from Mount Savage United Methodist Church will sponsor a Community Health Fair Saturday, May 10, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Savage Fire Hall. Forty organizations will provide screenings, activities, and education for all ages. Giveaways and door prizes will be available.

A pancake, sausage and sausage gravy breakfast can be purchased to benefit the Mason Dixon Lions Club and a plant sale will be held to benefit the Mount Savage Historical Society.

Biblical storytelling will be held Saturday, May 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage. Scriptural passages will be interwoven with music, songs and original poetry. The Biblical stories include Jesus' appearances after Easter until Pentecost.

Refreshments will be served following the ceremony .

Performers will participate from various area churches. Biblical storytellers will include Karla Davis, Ruth Goldbloom, Ken Green, Emily Maust, Oscar Preston, Jeanne Thrasher, the Rev. Elizabeth Webster and Lydia Martin. Original poetry will be read by Jack Slocomb and music will be performed by Daniel Weatherholt, organ, and Steve Weatherholt, cantor.

The event is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be accepted for the Mount Savage Food Pantry.
