Carlton A. "Sonny" Harper [Frostburg]

FROSTBURG - Carlton A. "Sonny" Harper, 70, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, May, 13, 2008 at his home.

Born Dec. 14, 1937 in Frostburg, he was the son of Lucius Harper, Frostburg and the late Pricilla (Washington) Harper. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte L. (Taylor) Harper.

Surviving in addition to his father, are one son, Allen Harper and wife Corann, Jacksonville, N.C.; one daughter, DeAnn Allen and husband Darin, Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alysia, Alexis, Darius, Haley and Madison; five brothers, Robert P. Harper and wife Mary, Elk Ridge, Md., Wayne Harper and wife JoAnn, Cumberland, Md., Greg Harper and wife Doris, Elk Ridge, Md., Phillip "Curt" Harper and wife Adrene, Myrtle Beach, S.C., William O. Harper and wife Joann, Uniontown, Pa. and Boyd D. Harper and wife Jane, Eckhart, Md.; one sister, Linda Carrington, Cumberland, Md.

He was a member of Dickerson A.M.E. Church, Frostburg.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Pastor R. Darin Allen officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
