Victor C. Lupis Sr. [Martinsburg]
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Victor Carmen Lupis Sr., 79, of Martinsburg, departed this life on May 14, 2008 at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born April 8, 1929 in Reggio de Calabria, Italy, the son of the late Frank Lupis and Teresa Argiro Lupis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice E. Lupis; and one son, Michael J. Lupis.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he received several medals of recognition. He was the owner and operator of the former One Hour Quality Cleaners in downtown Martinsburg for over 30 years. Upon retirement he became an avid bowler and was a former member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and the Sons of Italy.
He is survived by three sisters, Florence Indolfi of Frederick, Md., Margaret Incarnato of Dover, Ohio and Angeline Fellows of Roscoe, Ill.; and one brother, Frank Lupis of Winchester, Va. In addition to his siblings he is survived by seven children, Michelle Potts of Hanover, Pa., Frank Lupis, Victor Lupis Jr. and Tony Lupis, all of Martinsburg, Teresa Marrone of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Victoria Beard of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Nick Lupis of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:30 a.m.
Interment prayers will be said at Rosedale Cemtery.
