Alyssia M. Cage [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — Alyssia Mary Cage, 21, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident on Route 28, Short Gap, W.Va.
Born Feb. 8, 1988 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Craig Cage, Cumberland and Carol (Moran) Cage, Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clinton “Buddy” Cage.
Alyssia was a Biology student at Frostburg University and was employed at Giuseppe’s Restaurant in Frostburg. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a 2006 graduate of Fort Hill High School. She enjoyed gymnastics, softball, and volleyball. She could easily make people laugh and smile. There was no better example of someone who made the best of times and lived life to the fullest. She was hardworking, a great and caring friend and had an awesome spirit and soul.
In addition to her parents, surviving are one brother, Tyler Cage, at home; paternal grandmother, Jeaneen Cage, LaVale; and maternal grandparents, Ed and JoAnne Dillon, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., scarpellifuneralhomes.com on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Cage, Joshua Hierstetter, Joshua Boyard, Gregory Scott Smith, Levi Lutz and Cameron Lutz.
