CUMBERLAND — Dorothy Zoe Northcraft, 86, of Cumberland, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at WMHS-Memorial Campus.
Born July 21, 1922 in Cumberland, Miss Northcraft was the daughter of the late Harry Porter Northcraft and Olive Idella (Sturtz) Northcraft.
Dorothy was formerly employed by Montgomery Ward and Allegany College of Maryland. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she served as church organist. Dorothy was also a member of the Methodist Women, the School House Quilters and was President of the Pleasant Grove Homemakers Club.
Dorothy is survived by her brothers, Harry A. Northcraft, Cumberland and Glenn E. Northcraft and wife Donna, Merritt Island, Fla.; her sister, Charlotte R. Porter and husband Fred, Shepherdstown, W.Va.; her nieces, Pamela Niziolek and husband John, Walkersville, Cynthia Porter Jones and husband Robert, Frederick and Amy Porter Lagon and husband Brian, Louisa, Va.; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews; her special friend, Eve Imes and her family; and her neighbor, Phil Miltenberger.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Friday, July 3, 2009 from noon to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jack George officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, c/o: Union Grove Charge, 15607 Winslow St. SW, Cumberland, MD 21502.
