Kathryn V. Robinson [Mt. Pleasant]

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. — Kathryn Virginia Robinson, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Cumberland, Md., passed away June 29, 2009 at the Mt. Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, after a heroic battle with dementia.

Born Sept. 4, 1917 in Western Maryland, Kathryn was the daughter of Russian immigrants, the late Andre and Anna Morris.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. Her love, laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Edward Robinson Sr.

She is survived by her four children, Charles Edward Jr. and wife Kay of Long View, Wash., Frank David and wife Lindajean of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Powell and wife Marilyn of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and daughter, Mary Ann Michael of Birmingham, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland scarpellifuneralhomes.com on Sunday, July 5, 2009 from noon to 2 p.m.

Funeral services celebrating Kathryn’s life will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Chan Hubbard officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Words cannot be found to express how appreciative the family is for the wonderful care and concern extended by the staff of Mt. Pleasant Manor and Odyssey Hospice.
