Edith E. (Abe) Hetrick [Cumberland]
Edith Elizabeth (Abe) Hetrick, 74, of Cumberland, has gone home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
She was born on May 20, 1934 to the late Clayton and Bernice Buckley Abe.
She was born and raised in Cumberland and spent her final walk in life at the Dawnview Center, Fort Ashby, W.Va. A large debt of gratitude for the kindness she received during her short stay there.
Though our Mamaw will be greatly missed, we know that she has been welcomed home by God, both of her parents and her brothers, Philip, Aden, Norman, Ivan and Richard. Those of us left behind know that she will be waiting for us when it is our time.
She is survived by her brothers, Lawrence, Robert and Roger Abe; her children, Junior Lee Hetrick of Spring Gap, Bonnie Reckley and husband Theodore of Inwood, W.Va., Libby Franciosi of Cumberland, Cathy Richardson and husband Rob of Fort Ashby and Robert George and husband Alonzo of Headsville, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews, and a godchild. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandhchildren, Justin Hetrick and wife of Oldtown, Krista Hetrick of Oldtown, Michele Hott and husband Donald and their daughters, Madissen and Makenzie of Cumberland, Charles Lee and wife Jennifer and their sons, Charles and Kyle of Fort Ashby; Heather Liberati and husband Lindsay and their children Cody, Talia and Gideon of Springfield, W.Va., Sandra Lucas and husband Jerry and their children, Lynnlee and Dylan of Elkins, W.Va.
Though she loved many things while in our lives her greatest love was that of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Though her body will be resting at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Cumberland, her spirit will be young and pain free walking the streets of Heaven.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jody Bean officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
