Robert L. Shroyer Sr. [Fairhope]
FAIRHOPE, Pa. - Robert Leo Shroyer, Sr., 84, of Fairhope, formerly of Baltimore, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estates, Somerset.
Born July 28, 1923, in Fairhope, he was a son of the late Jacob and Rose (Clites) Shroyer. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Grace (Aldridge) Shroyer in 2000; 5 brothers; and 8 sisters.
Mr. Shroyer was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He attended Faith Community Church, Hyndman.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore where he was a mill right.
Surviving are sons, Robert L. Shroyer Jr. and wife Lorraine of Middle River, Md. and Bruce E. Shroyer and wife Linda of North East, Md.; daughters, Linda L. Deeter and husband, Dwight of Fairhope and I. Sue King and husband Dennis of York; sisters, Edna Helmstetter of LaVale and Mattie Riall of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow in Comps Cemetery, Hyndman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to In Touch Hospice or Faith Community Church.
