Clarabelle E. Alabaugh [Cumberland]

Clarabelle Elizabeth Alabaugh, 86, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at her home.

Born Aug. 19, 1922 in Hyndman, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William Brant and Gertrude Selah (Reighard) Brant. Mrs. Alabaugh was also preceded in death by her husband, John Rex Alabaugh; a son, William D. Alabaugh; a brother, Billy Brant. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Clara retired from Sears as supervisor of the Children’s Department and was a member of the Solid Rock Independent Baptist Church, Corriganville.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen J. Llewellyn and husband William, LaVale; her grandchildren, Kimberly J. Fickes and husband Barry, LaVale, Amy J. Llewellyn, Newark, Del. and Joel D. Llewellyn and wife Malia, Seattle, Wash.; as well as her cousins, Maxine Rhodes, Wanda Dunkell, Nancy Henderson, Frank and John Reighard, Paula Mattingly, William Filler, Gretchen Berlin, Cindy Cecil, Debbie Parrish, Charles Arbogast, Nancy Parsons and numerous others.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John Klink officiating.

Interment will be in the Bedford Cemetery.
