Jessie H. Arnold [Romney]

ROMNEY, W.Va. — Jessie H. Arnold, 92, of “River Road”, Romney, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at WMHS-Memorial Campus, Cumberland, Md.

Born on Dec. 7, 1915 in Hardy Co, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth H. and Eartha B. (Weatherholtz) Clower.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Romney Presbyterian “St. Luke’s” Chapel.

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her husband. John R. Arnold Sr. on Nov. 22, 1970; a daughter, Dorothy “Dot” Maynard in 2001; a sister and four brothers.

She is survived by a son, John “Splinter” Arnold Jr. of Romney; a daughter, Norma Ruth Wyant of Morgantown, W.Va.; a sister, Irene Stewart of Greenville, Pa.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, 115 E. Birch Lane, Romney, with Don Kesner, Minister officiating.

Interment will follow in Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
