Martha L. “Tatie/Mams” (Martin) Truly [Frostburg]

MOUNT SAVAGE — Martha Lavera “Tatie/Mams” (Martin) Truly, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at the WMHS-Frostburg Nursing & Rehab Center, Frostburg.
Born Dec. 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Anna Belle (Scott) Martin. Martha was the oldest of 10 children. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Truly, whom she married Sept. 7, 1947 and who died Sept. 28, 2002. Martha was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother. She was a life-long resident of Mount Savage.
Martha was a graduate of Beall High School. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper for the Mount Savage Refectories and the Hout Construction Company. She later worked as a caregiver. She was member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Although Martha had no children of her own, she was a very special aunt to nieces, Kimberly Trent, Leonardtown, Crissy Flanagan, Summer-ville, S.C., nephews, Jeff Stevens, Goose Creek, S.C. and Ricky Stevens, Cumberland. She is also survived by three brothers, Paul W. Martin Jr., Delbert Martin, both of Mount Savage, Ronald Martin, Cresaptown; four sisters, Mildred E. Kenison, Crownpoint, Ind., Geraldine Mullinix, Catonsville, Norma Lee Myers, Baltimore, Janet Stevens, Cumberland; and many other nieces and nep-hews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, scarpellifuneralhomes.com on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Hal Atkins officiating.
Martha will be laid to rest to join her beloved husband, Sirs, at Frostburg Memorial Park.
Mams and Sirs, you are truly missed by us all.
