Mildred A. “Millie” Mattingly-Scott [Baltimore]

BALTIMORE — Mildred Ann “Millie” Mattingly-Scott, 79, residing in Stella Maris, Baltimore, and formerly of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Stella Maris.
Born June 4, 1929, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Ruth (Stevens) Creegan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Mattingly.
Millie was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She partnered with her husband in real estate management and together they started Mattingly Reality. Before moving to Baltimore, she was formerly employed at the Cumberland Bon Ton.
Surviving are three sons, Patrick F. Mattingly and wife Prima, of Phillipsburg, N.J., Donald E. Mattingly, of Hagerstown, and Jerome T. “Jerry” Mattingly and wife Betty, of Fairfax, Va.; and one daughter, Carol A. Zaicko and husband Leonard, of Jarrettsville; one sister, Mary Dunn and husband John, of Cumberland; one brother, Bernard Creegan and wife Pat; ten grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, scarpellifh.com on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Monday at 9 a.m. with Msgr. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stella Maris Hospice, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
