The Allegany Campers, who grabbed the No. 1 ranking at midseason and refused to let it go, won the Cumberland Times-News girls basketball Area championship by a unanimous vote, putting the finishing touches on one of the more successful seasons in the program’s history.

The 28th annual All-Star Basketball Classic game between West Virginia and Maryland was held at Frostburg State University in Bobcat Arena on Sunday. In the girls' game, Maryland defeated West Virginia, 54-44, while the Maryland boys won against West Virginia, 113-69.
