Southern's third period breaks open close game at Petersburg

PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Second-ranked Southern outscored Petersburg 22-5 during the third quarter to close the door on the Vikings in a 62-37 win Monday night.

Emillee Bosley scored 12 points for a game high, and was joined in double figures by Brittany Boyce and Shayna Sweitzer, who each had 10 points. Kerry Conroy had nine points and Alex Barnard finished with eight.

Alisha Webster led the Vikings with 10 points.

Petersburg claimed victory in the junior varsity game, 37-31.

Southern (13-4) plays at Hampshire in a makeup game on Wednesday night. Petersburg (9-9) hosts Mountain Ridge tonight.
