Hampshire charges past Fort Hill

CUMBERLAND — Hampshire outscored Fort Hill 18-8 in the third period to break open a tight Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference game and win 54-38 Friday night at Fort Hill.

Kayla Fout scored 11 points and Rana Conneway added 10 to lead the balanced Hampshire attack as the Trojans improved to 8-13 overall and 6-7 in the the conference.

Lindsay Fisher had a game-high 16 points for Fort Hill (3-14 overall, 1-11 AMAC).

Hampshire led 6-5 after one period and had 22-17 halftime edge before pulling out to a 40-26 advantage in the third period.

Hampshire won the junior varsity game 73-45 with Emily Brill scoring 14 points, Ashley Davis 13, and Eleen Heavener 11. Christina Stevens scored 11 and Courtney Koelker 10 for Fort Hill.

Fort Hill will host Bishop Walsh on Monday and Hampshire will host Southern on Wednesday.
