No. 2 Southern whips Fort Hill, 64-28

OAKLAND - Second-ranked Southern got started right Monday evening when the Rams held the visiting Fort Hill Sentinels to two points in the first quarter, on their way to an easy Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference victory to close out their regular season.

Southern, who is riding a six-game winning streak, led 20-2 after one quarter and 32-9 at halftime. After the third quarter the score sat at 51-17.

Torie Bosley led the Rams offense by draining five three-point goals on her way to 16 points. Destinee Fulk scored 10 points, while Brittany Boyce had eight rebounds and six points. Emillee Bosley scored seven points.

Andrea Armstrong led Fort Hill with seven points.

Southern also took the jayvee game convincingly 38-9. Anna Keefer scored 16 and Mariah Stem had eight. Kacey Smith had five points for Fort Hill.

Southern concludes the regular season 17-4 overall and a 9-4 in the AMAC. The Rams drew a bye in the first round of the Maryland State 1A West Region Tournament, and will host the winner of Friday's Mountain Ridge at Fort Hill contest on Monday.

Fort Hill drops to 4-16 and to 1-12 in the AMAC.
