Surrattsville first state tournament foe for Alco, Fort Hill

Campers play Wednesday at UMBC, Sentinels Friday at Comcast Center; directions provided for both games

CUMBERLAND - The Allegany High girls (23-2) will play Surrattsville (17-7) Wednesday, 5 p.m., at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County's RAC Arena in the Maryland Class 1A state tournament semifinals, with the winner playing the Digital Harbor (19-3)-Pocomoke (22-1) winner Saturday, 7 p.m., at UMBC in the state championship game.

Meanwhile, the Fort Hill boys (22-3) will take on Surrattsville (11-11) Friday, 5 p.m., at the University of Maryland's Comcast Center in their state semifinal. The winner will play the winner of the Dunbar (16-5)-Snow Hill (24-0)/Pocomoke (19-4) semifinal Saturday, 1 p.m., at Comcast in the state championship game.

What follows are directions to the two arenas, as supplied by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association. Fans are reminded to adhere to all campus parking regulations.

Girls tournament at UMBC: From West, Exit 12 off I-695 (Baltimore Beltway). Go west on Wilkens Avenue for one-quarter (1/4) mile. Take a left onto the UMBC campus.

Boys tournament at Maryland-College Park: From I-95/1-495 (Capital Beltway), exit Route 1 South to Maryland Route 193 (University Boulevard). Go west one mile to left on Paint Branch Parkway. Follow signs to Comcast Center parking.
