Southern JV beats Hampshire JV, 12-7

OAKLAND - Ryan Bennett and Jeremy Sharpless hit home runs and Southern rallied from six down to beat Hampshire in junior varsity play.

Bennett finished 3-for-4 with a double and a single to go with his homer. He would finish with five runs batted in. Sharpless hit a solo homer and added a double, while Tyler Sweitzer's hit two singles, and Sean Rollman had three.

Hampshire got a 4-for-4 performance from Moreland.

The Trojans jumped ahead 6-0 in the first inning, but the Rams got the lead back with six runs in the fourth.

Southern (7-2) will play a doubleheader with Mountain Ridge on Friday at Broadford Park.
