BAKER, W.Va. - Second-ranked East Hardy scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to come-from-behind to defeat Keyser Wednesday evening at East Hardy High School.
The Cougars (13-5) trailed 4-1 after three innings and was down one, 4-3, after four before Keyser scored two runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.
East Hardy scored its five runs on RBI singles by William Whetzel, Dane Biller, Tyler Kerr's two-run double and a Keyser error.
The Cougars' Cody Hoover belted a solo home run in the third inning and Jeremiah Bowman stood out both at the plate and on the mound. He hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. He also picked up the complete-game victory by striking out 13 and walking three.
Keyser was led by Daniel Zinn's three hits including a double. Tyler Rohrbaugh was 2-for-3 and Tommy Stark was 2-for-4. Tyler Logsdon had a solo home run in the second inning.
East Hardy visits Tygarts Valley today at 4 p.m. while Keyser (9-10) hosts Petersburg at 5 p.m.
