Frankfort edges No. 3 Moorefield, 6-5

MOOREFIELD - Cody Weese had two hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in to lead visiting Frankfort past Moorefield.

The Falcons (7-12) took the lead with a four-run second inning, and snapped a 5-5 tie later with a run in the sixth to win for the second time in as many days.

Weese tripled and singled and Travis Myers doubled, singled and knocked in a run as Frankfort made the most of five hits. Dan Alkire doubled and scored twice.

Reliever Tavin Flanagan allowed one run over the final three innings to get the win.

Tucker Smith tripled and singled, Josh Stickley doubled and singled, Tanner Burns had two singles and two RBIs, and Jake Hose singled twice for Moorefield.

Frankfort hosts Southern on Saturday in a 10 a.m. single game. Moorefield (12-3) hosts Tygarts Valley tonight.
