Fort Hill slips past Hampshire, 4-3

ROMNEY - Kody Boyer had three hits, Shane Malloy drove in three runs, and winning pitcher Scott Rice added a pair of hits in Fort Hill's victory at Hampshire.

Boyer stroked three singles and Malloy had two for the Sentinels (5-6, 4-4 AMAC). Rice belted a double and a single and knocked in the other Fort Hill run.

Jalen Newcome and Bo Boyer led Hampshire (6-18, 3-9) with a double and a single each. Justin Combs, Kyle Beers and J.R. Shuck had RBI singles.

Both teams had eight hits. Rice struck out nine and walked five in a complete-game win, getting a ground ball for the final out and stranding two Hampshire baserunners.

Hampshire hosts Musselman today, with the jayvees playing at 4:30 and the varsity at 7. Fort Hill hosts Hampshire on Monday.
