Southern beats Frankfort 4-3

Ryan Sweitzer scored Jake Briley with a fifth-inning single that broke a 3-3 and lifted Southern past Frankfort in an AMAC game.

The win moves the Rams to 6-5 overall and 3-5 in the conference. The Rams will host Frankfort on Wednesday. The Falcons (7-13, 4-8) play a doubleheader at East Hardy on Monday.

Cody Parsons had an RBI double and Nick Tressler a two-run single for the Rams.

Southern scored once in the first and twice in the second to open a a 3-0 lead, but the Falcons tied it with a three-run third.

Corey Weaver had a two-run single, Shawn Benson doubled, and Dan Alkire drove in the third Frankfort run with a single.

The Falcons standed a baserunner in scoring position the last two innings.

Dylan Norris fanned six in a complete-game loss.
