Keyser loses two slugfests

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Tyler McCain singled home the game-winning run in a two-run seventh inning in the first game, and an 11-run first inning all but took care of the second as the Hedgesville swept Keyser, 13-12 and 20-12, in high school baseball on Saturday.
Keyser lost the opener despite a big game by Colton Jones, who hit two home runs and had seven runs batted in. He hit a two-run homer in the first inning and a grand slam in the sixth that tied the game 10-10.
Tyler Fraley hit a solo home run, Tyler Logsdon had two singles and Chris Halbritter an RBI double for Keyser (10-12).
Andrew Shaffer hit two doubles and knocked in three runs and McCain had two singles and three RBIs for Hedgesville (13-11).
In the second game, Hedgesville scored 11 times in the first inning and led 18-6 after just two.
Mike Ferrari hit a grand slam in the big first inning. Jake Riner finished with a homer, double and single and Shawn Huff doubled and singled for Hedgesville.
Logsdon hit a solo homer and a double and Cody Spotts doubled and singled twice for Keyser. Rohrbaugh and Tommy Stark doubled and Fraley singled twice.
Keyser will host Allegany on Wednesday at 4:30.
