Meyersdale defeats Fort Hill, 5-3

CUMBERLAND - A four-run inning proved to be all that Meyersdale would need in the Red Raiders win over Fort Hill Wednesday.

Meyersdale scored four times in the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead. It then added a fifth run in the fifth inning, and held Fort Hill to two runs in the bottom half to secure the win.

Winning pitcher Cody Donaldson recorded five strikeouts, three walks and allowed seven hits. He went 2-for-3 at the dish with a double and a run batted in. Matt Donaldson went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Mike Burkholder finished with a double and a single.

Scott Rice drove in one with a double and a single for the Sentinels. Forhest Crass hit an RBI double.

Rice struck out 10 and walked three, but allowed 10 hits in the loss.

Fort Hill (5-7) will play at Northern on Tuesday, at 4:30.
