PETERSBURG - Jami Rohrbaugh belted a three-run triple that highlighted Petersburg's seven-run fifth inning, sending the Vikings over third-ranked East Hardy Wednesday evening at Petersburg High School.
East Hardy led 2-1 after three innings and 4-1 after its half of the fifth before Petersburg began its comeback.
The Vikings started off their half of the inning on a bunt single by Dustin Dayton. A catcher's interference and another base hit loaded the bases to set up Rohrbaugh's triple. After an out, a sacrifice fly scored Rohrbaugh. Three more runs would score before East Hardy got Petersburg out of the inning. The Vikings scored seven runs off of five hits with three of them being extra base hits.
Rohrbaugh finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Noah Sites was 2-for-3 with a double and Cotdy Evans had an RBI triple. Dayton was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
East Hardy's Dane Biller and Jeremiah Bowman each doubled, Dakota Hoover was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Tyler Brill was 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
Petersburg won the jayvee game, 9-4.
The Vikings (10-15) host Pendleton today for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader. East Hardy (15-7) hosts Pendleton Friday.
