Petersburg splits with No. 4 Pendleton, 6-5 and 7-11

PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Eric Phares singled home Noah Sites to break a tie game in the seventh inning and send Petersburg to a 6-5 win over fourth-ranked Pendleton County.
Petersburg's win came in the completion of a suspended game earlier in the year. Pendleton took the regularly-scheduled game 11-7.
In the first game, Petersburg trailed 5-1 until scoring four times in the fifth inning, an inning highlighted by a three-run homer by Jamie Rohrbaugh.
Chase Feaster, who relieved in the bottom of the inning, tossed three scoreless innings for the win.
Brandon Raines doubled and singled for Pendleton.
In the second game, Kyle Puffinbarger belted a double and two singles and drove in two runs to lead Pendleton.
Brett Raines pounded out two dobules, Brandon Raines had two singles and Josh Godfrey two singles and an RBI for the Wildcats.
Ronnie Loy hit a double and two singles and knocked in a run for the Vikings (11-16). Codty Evans added an RBI double and Sites had an RBI single.
Pendleton (19-8) plays at East Hardy tonight at 7 o'clock.
