Bishop Walsh shuts out Hancock, 10-0

CUMBERLAND - Chandler Tomlinson allowed only four hits and had three himself, including a home run, to lead the Bishop Walsh Spartans over Hancock Monday afternoon at Bishop Walsh School.

Tomlinson had a solo home run to start the three-run second inning that gave the Spartans a 3-0 lead. He also doubled and singled to finish with two RBIs.

Other leading hitters for the Spartans were Eric Diamond with two two-run doubles. Ray Miller drove in two runs with a base hit and a double and Tyler Smearman had two hits, including the RBI single in the sixth inning that ended the game due to the 10-run rule.

Chandler had seven strikeouts and only two walks in his complete-game, four-hit victory. He faced only four batters over the minimum.

The Spartans (9-11) will complete their suspended game at Allegany today at 3 p.m. They will resume the game with a 4-0 lead over the Campers in the bottom of the third inning. Afterwards, Allegany hosts Mountain Ridge.
