Northern first AMAC champion

ACCIDENT - Northern scored eight runs despite leaving 12 men on base Tuesday evening as the Huskies wrapped up the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference with a 8-2 win over Fort Hill.
The win concludes Northern's regular season with a mark of 17-1 overall and 11-1 in the AMAC.
Matt Sisler fired a complete game and struck out 10 along the way, and smacked a three-run home run during a five-run second inning for the Huskies. He would also hit a single. Patrick Brady provided the final three Northern runs with a three-run homer in the fifth.
Trey Beasom and Jeff Smith both had two singles, and Dan Warnick had an RBI single.
The Sentinels were led at the plate by Zach Ward's solo home run in the seventh, and a single. Jesse Robinson drove in the team's first run with a single in the sixth inning.
According to head Coach Phil Carr, Northern will be the No. 1 seed in the Maryland 1A West Region Playoffs. Clear Spring earned the No. 2 seed, Brunswick the No. 3 and Catoctin the fourth.
Fort Hill (5-8, 4-5 AMAC) will host Allegany today 4 p.m.
