Pendleton drops Tucker, 12-5

FRANKLIN, W.Va. - Tucker scored four runs in the fourth inning to tie the score, but Pendleton scored eight over its next three at-bats to advance to the championship of the West Virginia Class A Region 2, Section 3 playoffs with the win.

Brett Raines helped the Wildcats get started in the fourth inning by jacking a two-run home run. He would add a double and another RBI to his totals. Josh Godfrey had everything for a cycle except for the home run, as well as four RBIs. Brandon Raines and Kyle Puffenberger finished with two hits apiece. Pendleton had a total of 15 hits.

Brandon Miller had an RBI single for Tucker.

David Bowers pitched the final two innings for the Wildcats and had four strikeouts in the brief outing.

No. 4 Pendleton (21-9) will play Thursday, 6 p.m., in the sectional championship game at Petersburg High School. Tucker will play the winner of the Trinity-Union match today, and then the winner of that game will face Pendleton on Thursday. The Wildcats would have to lose twice to be eliminated.
