Hyndman beats McConnellsburg

HYNDMAN, Pa. - Hyndman kept its playoff hopes alive Thursday by forcing a split of a doubleheader with McConnellsburg Thursday evening.
The Hornets won the second game 4-2 behind a solid outing from Jeff Crosten. Crosten collected two hits and the plate to get on runs batted in, and earned the win on the mound by allowing just the two runs.
Shane Torbet doubled and Jesse Minnick hit a RBI single for Hyndman (5-10).
R. Glazier was 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the fourth, and N. Swouger had two singles and a RBI.
McConnellsburg made a furious rally in the seventh inning of the first contest to collect a 7-6. The game was completed on Thursday after being suspended because of rain on an earlier date.
T. Shupe finished 2-for-3 and D. Wink had a two-run single in the win.
Torbet hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and added a single. Kyle Bishop and Crosten hit a double, and a single each, and Josh Stair singled twice.
The Hornets are now 5-10.
