Crites, Moorefield's eighth beats EH

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Bo Crites had two hits and knocked in four runs in an eight-run fourth inning that powered Moorefield past East Hardy 9-4 in the Class A, Region 2, Section 4 championship game Tuesday evening.

Moorefield (20-5) will play Pendleton County (22-9) on Monday in the Region 2 semifinals, at Petersburg, at 6:30 p.m.

Trailing 4-1 after 3 1/2 innings, the Yellow Jackets bunched together four hits, three walks and two hit batters in scoring eight times in the fourth.

Josh Stickley began things with a double and scored on a single by Crites. After Mike Sions and Jake Hose were hit by pitches, Ethan Reynolds drew a bases-loaded walk and Tanner Burns had an RBI single.

Tanner Sherman and Stickley received bases-loaded walks before Crites smacked a three-run double to end the scoring.

Crites finished with two doubles, a single and four RBIs while Burns added two singles and two RBIs for Moorefield.

Kolby Foltz, Jeremiah Bowman and Steven See had two singles for East Hardy (17-9), which outhit Moorefield 10-6. Foltz had two RBIs and Bowman one. Bowman struck out nine and walked five in six innings.
