KEYSER, W.Va. - Haylie Harper went deep in both games, and Allegany Head Coach Rick Twigg picked up the 100th win of his career as the Campers took two from Keyser Monday evening in Keyser.
Harper and Erin Hansel both smacked home runs in the opener, as Allegany held off a late Keyser rally for a 3-2 win. The Campers scored four late runs to secure a 8-2 win in the second.
Harper and Hansel both had singles to go with their home runs in the opener. Hansel hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning and Harper had a solo homer in the fourth. Jenna Mathews added a double.
Katie Alkire had nine strikeouts and two walks while allowing two hits in the win.
Keyser scored two times in the bottom of the seventh and had a runner on third when Alkire struck out the final two batters to end the game.
Harper connected on a two-run home run in the sixth and added another RBI in the third. Hansel hit an RBI single in the sixth and Mathews had two singles and two RBIs.
Alicia Cuthbertson and Kaitlyn Ray had RBI singles for the Tornado.
Hayley Stankan had eight strikeouts and one walk in the win.
Allegany (8-1, 6-0 AMAC) will host Fort Hill tonight in its first City game. Keyser (4-11, 3-5) plays tonight at Southern.
