Frankfort tops Petersburg, 3-1

SHORT GAP - Jasmine Morgan belted a two-run home run and Kristi Salonish fired a three-hitter as Frankfort won its third-straight game defeating Petersburg Monday at Frankfort High School.

Morgan's home run came in the fourth inning and erased a 1-0 Viking lead. Rachal Alkire had an RBI double to account for the Falcons' third run.

Petersburg's second-inning run was unearned.

Natasha Holstine had two singles and Maddi Shambaugh had a double as Frankfort (9-6) finished with seven hits.

Salonish struck out three and walked one going the distance for the victory. Petersburg's Kayla Watts took the loss.

Frankfort hosts Bishop Walsh today at 4 p.m.
